Ama Vida About Maria Mayeron

MEET THE DESIGNER

I started AMA VIDA in 2021, following a childhood dream of mine to own a flower shop. But a flower shop quickly evolved into what AMA VIDA is today, which is both florals and artisanal crafts from Latin America. Having been influenced by my mother who was born in Colombia and raised in Venezuela, I have always held these two countries close to my heart. I have many family members living in both countries and hear firsthand of the horrific poverty that has plagued Venezuela, specifically, in these last several years. I wanted to find a way to help those suffering there and bring economic growth in a place I know has a huge need. I hope my own creative craft of flower arranging and those crafts of the Wayuú Indians, who live on the border of Colombia and Venezuela, will bring you great joy for years to come.

Ama-Vida-About-Preserving-Craft

Preserving Venezuelan and Colombian Craft

AMA VIDAs mission is to connect the wonder of Colombia and Venezuela with the rest of the world. I dreamed of shedding light on the beautiful works of the local artisans of this region. Preserving their trade and ensuring their livelihood while enjoying their creativity on our kitchen tables and in our homes. Having traveled to Venezuela frequently over the course of my childhood I fell in love with the beauty of Latin America. I was heavily influenced by my mother, not only because of her Venezuelan and Colombian heritage but also through her ceaseless passion for helping others. I knew I wanted to help the people from Venezuela and Colombia and this business is the best way I know how. Every purchase made here conserves their craft and empowers them to continue their work for generations to come.
